At Tier 1 Furnishings, custom is not a premium add-on — it is how we work. Our factory in Chiang Mai, Thailand manufactures custom acacia wood furniture to your exact dimensions, your chosen finish, your design. Whether you need a single statement dining table or a full container of bespoke pieces, we build furniture to specification rather than from a fixed catalogue.
What Can Be Customised?
Almost everything. The most common custom requests we receive are for:
- Dimensions — length, width, height, and depth to the centimetre. Ideal for non-standard spaces, low-ceiling rooms, or specific architectural requirements.
- Wood finish — natural oil, dark walnut stain, whitewash, ebonised black, custom mixed tones. We match reference samples.
- Edge profile — live-edge (natural slab edge), straight square, bevelled, rounded, waterfall.
- Leg design — hairpin, trestle, A-frame, square tapered, chunky block, metal base. We hold a wide range of leg options and can fabricate custom metalwork.
- Hardware — matte black, brushed brass, brushed nickel, antique bronze hardware on drawer and cabinet pieces.
- Joinery and construction method — solid slab, bookmatched, herringbone, chevron, or mosaic patterns on tabletops and panels.
- Surface treatment — food-safe oil finish for dining and kitchen pieces, commercial lacquer for hospitality environments, marine varnish for outdoor furniture.

The Custom Order Process
The process is straightforward. You tell us what you need — dimensions, design reference images, finish preferences, and quantity — and we send back a quote with lead time and sample photos of comparable work. For more complex pieces, we can arrange a sample production run before committing to a full order.
Here is how a typical custom order works:
Step 1 — Submit your brief. Use our quote request form to describe your piece. Include dimensions, quantity, finish preferences, and any design reference images. The more detail you provide, the more accurate our initial quote will be.
Step 2 — Receive a quote and timeline. We review your brief and respond within 24 hours with a price, lead time, and any clarifying questions. For complex custom pieces we may request a short design consultation call.
Step 3 — Confirm and pay deposit. Once you are happy with the quote, a deposit (typically 50%) confirms the order and triggers production scheduling.
Step 4 — Production and quality check. We build your piece in our Chiang Mai workshop, photograph it at each stage on request, and carry out a quality inspection before packing.
Step 5 — Shipping and delivery. We arrange shipping via your preferred freight method. We handle FOB and DDP arrangements for international orders. Domestic Thailand delivery is also available.
Custom Furniture for Interior Designers and Specifiers
We work closely with interior designers, architects, and fit-out companies specifying furniture for residential and commercial projects. We are experienced in working from technical drawings, CAD files, and finish specification sheets. We can produce multiple design variants for client approval, manufacture to commercial tolerances, and coordinate multi-product deliveries to match project timelines.
If you are a trade buyer, we offer a wholesale account with trade pricing and access to our full custom manufacturing capability.
Lead Times for Custom Furniture
Standard lead times for custom acacia wood furniture range from 3 to 6 weeks depending on complexity, current production schedule, and order volume. Large multi-piece orders or highly complex custom designs may require 6–10 weeks. We are transparent about lead times at the quote stage and do not overcommit production capacity.
Rush production is available for simple pieces at an additional fee — ask about this when submitting your brief.
